Stingray's commitment to sustainability: a second life for electronics
This May, Stingray transformed its usual bustling workplace into a vibrant marketplace, where the thrill of the bid intersected with the joy of giving back.
For the second year in a row, as part of our commitment to environmental stewardship, we hosted our second-hand auction. Employees participated in some friendly competition by out-bidding each other on a selection of perfectly functional electronic and audio equipment that no longer met our internal standards. From computers and audio devices to various pieces of furniture, each item found a new home, reducing waste and promoting reuse.
Going green
At Stingray, we believe in taking concrete steps towards a more sustainable future. This auction, held in honor of World Environment Day, not only supported this belief but also demonstrated it in action.
With more than 200 items sold, we raised $9,856, and with a little top-up from Stingray to round things up, we were able to donate a grand total of $12 500 to Équiterre, a non-profit organization dedicated to building a more equitable and environmentally conscious society.
Why it matters
Supporting Équiterre aligns with our core values of social responsibility and environmental protection. The funds raised help promote ecological and equitable solutions, supporting projects that make a real difference in our community and beyond.
We are proud of this initiative's success and grateful for our employees' enthusiastic participation. Together, we are not just changing the way we think about used electronics, we are taking steps towards a more sustainable future. The event was a testament to what we can achieve when we unite for a cause.
