Hackathon Recap 2022 | Stingray x AWS

From November 15th to 17th, the Stingray Hackathon event brought together over 90 employees from all departments with a shared goal: working together to develop innovative solutions around the theme of Connection.  

This topic is dear to our hearts since, after the last two virtual editions, our employees could finally gather at our offices to collaborate on technological solutions.  

Mario Dubois, Chief Technology Officer, highlighted this long-awaited return to the office during his speech: "Today, I am happy. Happy to see people who have fun working together, to see big smiles on their faces, to see committed employees who go off the beaten path to create new things. For me, that is the Stingray vibe.”  

For three exciting days, a dozen multi-departmental teams collaborated on various projects combining technology and creativity.  

Alexandre Gauthier, Vice President of IT Sales, emphasized the atmosphere commanding the event: "The mood was electrifying, lively, and warm. The passion and pride of the participants were palpable; we felt a genuine desire to contribute to our micro-society. Most of the projects were very unifying." 

Stingray had an exclusive sponsor this year as we joined forces with the Amazon Web Services (AWS) teams, who offered their valuable expertise on cloud-related projects.  

Scott Macdonell, Account Manager, Cloud Solutions Center for AWS, said, "I am very impressed just by how well everyone at Stingray has collaborated. Developers were able to work with the creative side, and everyone truly added value to the teams. One project that comes to mind for me at a time when everyone is talking about getting back to the office is the Employee Meal Ordering System, sponsored by Stingray. It hits at the heart of supporting local businesses that need support more than ever and shows the sense of camaraderie here at Stingray.”
