We’ve asked the 20 years old artists a few questions. Meet Angelica Vila, the R&B rising star!
What is your earliest artistic memory?
When I wrote my first song ever, it was inspired by watching Miley Cyrus as Hannah Montana performing the Climb.
What does R&B/ Soul convey like no other music genre?
LOVE, emotion and expression.
What is your best memory on stage?
Singing the national Anthem for the Miami Heat at the American Airline Arena
What is your funniest moment on stage?
I don’t have one yet, but I’m sure I will have one soon as I keep progressing
What song do you love performing the most on stage and why?
My song “By Your side”. It’s going to be on my first project, that is still not out but it’s coming soon. I just feel like people can connect with me on that track, its filled with emotions and the heart break
If you didn’t become a musician what would you be doing right now?
If I wasn’t in music I would definitely be a crime scene investigator. I love science and shows like CSI. I would be trying to get myself in the laboratory everyday.
Which musician(s) would you like to collaborate with next?
J. Cole
What is one thing that your fans don’t know about you (a fun fact)?
I’m a workaholic, I’m all about work ethic, I love to hustle. The hustle runs in my family. I’m always in the studio. One of my favorite things is to educate myself on the production side of music. I’m slowly learning how to better communicate with the engineers, so when I’m in the booth they know exactly what I want.
What’s your motto advice you live by?
Continue to work, and if you believe you can do something, then you can make it happen. Just as long you are willing to put in the work and disregard all the negativity that comes your way. It is up to you not let that negativity effect your energy.
What’s coming up for you in the next weeks and months?
I have a project that Is already finished, I‘m excited for people to listen to it. Right now we are working on the visuals. I’m also back in the studio working on my second project and we also have a 2nd single to follow “More In The Morning”
