For rising stars Billianne, Cadence Weapon, Myst Milano, and Léonie Gray, performing at Osheaga was a dream come true. Billiane expressed her excitement about being part of such a prestigious lineup and how it felt like a validation of her hard work. Cadence Weapon, spoke about a deluxe version of his album coming out and some dream collaborations including Charli XCX. Myst Milano, with their bold and unapologetic style, shared their thoughts on performing at festivals and introducing their music new audiences. Léonie Gray spoke about the thrill of performing at Osheaga and how her family supported her throughout her music journey.

Adding a touch of fun to the festival, some of the artists shared their favorite karaoke songs, revealing a fun and personal side to their musical tastes. Mimi Webb loves belting out Britney Spears' iconic "Baby One More Time," while Stephen Sanchez enjoys serenading Shania Twain's "Still the One." Wild Rivers and Myst Milano both favor Third Eye Blind's "Semi-Charmed Life," showcasing their shared taste in '90s rock anthems. Two Door Cinema Club members are fans of Blur's "Parklife," adding a Britpop flair to their karaoke sessions. Billianne channels her inner country star with Carrie Underwood's "Before He Cheats," and Elderbrook surprises with Akon's "Locked Up." Léonie Gray pays homage to Amy Winehouse with "Back to Black," and Libianca chooses the emotional depth of Rihanna's "Take a Bow."

In partnership with TikTok Radio, we asked everyone their favorite TikTok dance or trend at the moment. As expected, the majority answered the ‘Apple Dance’ by Charli XCX with some of them even doing it themselves. However, Stephen Sanchez answered ‘Hot to Go’ by Chappell Roan while Teddy Swims shared that he belts out ‘Nasty Girl’ by Tinashe in the shower.

Osheaga 2024 featured breathtaking performances from some of the biggest names in music. Chappell Roan captivated the audience with her dynamic stage presence and powerful vocals with ‘Hot To Go’ and ‘Pink Pony Club’. SZA delivered a mesmerizing set, blending her soulful voice with heartfelt lyrics. Green Day brought their signature energy and punk rock spirit, electrifying the crowd with their timeless hits. Noah Kahan enchanted fans with his introspective songs and warm stage presence, creating an intimate atmosphere. And of course, Hozier’s performance was a highlight, his soulful renditions leaving the audience in awe.

While each artist was very different, they all had one thing in common...They love Montreal’s crowds and people! Osheaga 2024 was more than just a music festival; it was a celebration of talent, stories, and the shared love for music.

Good Looking is a song I wrote about six years ago, and I never expected it to have a moment on TikTok. I started noticing that it was having a viral moment, and there wasn't really a particular trend. There were a bunch of different trends, which was so cool to see because I got to witness the song take on so many different forms. I absolutely love everything about it.

Right now, I am loving the “Under the Table” Fiona Apple trend just because I think everybody's being really funny with it and kind of also just rediscovering and appreciating Fiona Apple and her lyrical genius. So, I love seeing that.

When INJI Knew ‘Gaslight’ Was a Hit

It's a pretty funny story because I made the song completely as a joke. I did not mean for it to be serious. My friend and I were messing around in our home studio, and I just wanted to make a song that gave a****** men what they deserve, you know? So, we made a funny song about a psycho ex-girlfriend giving her ex Hell. And it really resonated with people. We then posted a random TikTok singing the song, which blew up overnight. Then it just became kind of a movement. My favorite video posted to my song was actually by TikTok themselves. They were using the filter, Horace. If you guys have seen it, it's absolutely hilarious. And it's just Horace dancing to 'Gaslight'.

A TikTok trend I really like, even though it is not very unique, is 'I Am Woman' by Emmy Meli because she is just iconic, and this is the message we need right now on the internet. I am woman. I am fearless.

How Nicky Came Up With ‘Sunroof’

I wrote Sunroof one night when I was sick, but I wrote it at a point in my life where things were going really well. I was just about to graduate college. I had made some amazing friends and was just feeling good and happy. So, I wanted to write something that captured that feeling, even though I was sick, and Sunroof was just born right then and there. It's been a crazy and wild ride to see all the TikToks that people have posted. I think my favorite one or two would probably be the Ed Sheeran one, where he just reposted the sound pretty much. And I don't know, it was Ed doing it, so super sick. Then I love all the dog videos with their heads out the sunroof because I love dogs, and they're really cute.

Nicky’s Favorite TikTok Trend

My favorite trend right now by far is the Minions Rise of Gru movie, with the song Rich Minions playing; I think it's by Yeat. It's pretty much like a bunch of people going to the movie theater in minion outfits and suits and it's so funny. That's my favorite trend going around right now, and I hope to see more like that cause that's been the best trend in a while.

When Tyler Knew ‘Love You Still’ Was a Hit

It all started when I saw this video from Dixie D’Amelio, singing GAYLE's famous song, ‘abcdefu.’ When I heard it, I was like, what if it wasn't about F*** your mom, and F*** your dog. What if it was like, I love you? So, I went and created this version, which is now called the romantic version. The lyrics are “love you still, always will” type of thing. I put it up on the platform about 15 minutes later, and I went to watch Netflix or something. I came back about a couple hours later, checked in on the app, and I said, whoa, because the views on this thing were in the hundreds of thousands.

I was blown away. I was super happy! I went to bed that night, woke up the next morning, and it was in the millions. And I was just like, what? So, I called my team up right away. I was like, guys, this is something I think we could call viral, and they agreed. So, 48 hours later, I created the 'abcdefu' romantic version.

So, this trend on TikTok, I don't know how it started but, it's the tortilla challenge. You take a mouth full of water, and you grab a tortilla and slap your buddy or however many people you're with, across the face. If you've seen it, it's so funny. If you haven't seen it, you gotta check it out. I could sit there and watch those videos all day. In fact, I should do that trend.

How ‘abcdefu’ Was Made

The way it kind of came to be is that my best friend and I have been best friends for years. She literally has known every single person that I've dated, ever, and she knows absolutely everything about me. She kind of knew the vibe; where I was at mentally. We were going into this with a friend of ours, Dave Pittenger. He was like, “What if we wrote a song called ‘abcde (insert curse word here) off’, like F off? And I was like, oh my God, I absolutely love that. We just wrote that song that day and we laughed so much. We had to schedule another session to write the song, because we were just laughing so hard.

When GAYLE Knew Her Song Was a Hit

The song came out, it was out for a couple months, and it was just kind of like doing its thing. I remember when it was out, I think for maybe four months it had around 7 million streams, something like that. And I was like, oh my God, that was the highest streamed song of mine. I was so, so excited. And then exactly a month later, it had 107 million streams, and it absolutely blew my mind.

GAYLE’s Favorite Trends With Her Song

I just started seeing TikTok after TikTok. People started making videos to my song and they first started putting sign language to it. And more and more people started doing it. Then people started putting their own twist onto the trend. They started breaking plates and they started flipping people off in family photos.

My favorite was seeing people try and figure out how to secretly flip off their families in photos. There's just been so, so many cute trends that I've seen people do with their friends and their families and their exes and their best friends. I feel grateful for everything that has happened with this song.
